FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE –United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County launched the 2024 Community Campaign this week, a community-wide campaign that raises funds for local programs that support young children, students, families and people in crisis. With the campaign just beginning, Frost Bank has already pledged a generous $1 million gift to boost donations from new business partnerships and select United Way donors through 2024.

The $1 million gift lays the foundation for long-term relationships with new donors and partners who will help build a stronger foundation for San Antonio through United Way for years to come.

“At Frost, we believe in giving back to our communities and making people’s lives better,” said Phil Green, Chairman and CEO of Frost Bank and this year’s United Way campaign chair. “We are longtime supporters of the United Way, and we’re proud that our gift will help strengthen United Way by enhancing donations from new and existing donors.”

From the $1 million gift, $500,000 will be used to boost donations from new or returning individual donors, while the other $500,000 will be allocated to matching contributions from new businesses. Specifically, Frost Bank will donate $100 to United Way for every new donor who gives $100 or more and for existing donors who increase their contributions to $100 or more. Additionally, new businesses making their first donation this year will have their entire gift matched dollar for dollar by Frost Bank.

Last year, United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County raised $47.4 million, which has been invested in health and human support services. United Way hopes to deliver another outstanding result during this year’s Community Campaign, which takes place from August through January. If you want to take advantage of the Frost Boost, you can give $100 or more to United Way today at uwsatx.org.

The collective contributions to United Way from donors will assist people in the community, like the 484,000+ individuals who received support from United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County last year. The resources these organizations provide are critical for the community’s future. They prepare young children for life, help students succeed in school, make economic mobility achievable for families and provide a safety net of services to meet the needs of people in crisis. “We are so grateful for this generous gift from Frost Bank and to everyone who supports United Way from our donors, volunteers, impact partners to our 300+ corporate partners,” said Chris Martin, President and CEO of United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. “By supporting United Way, you are investing collectively in a brighter future for San Antonio and creating tangible change for others.”
